PHILANTHROPIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICE LONDON
The Daughters of Divine Love Philanthropic Development office London was launched on 15th Dec 2019; 50 years anniversary of the foundation of our congregation. It was indeed a significant year in the congregation and for the daughters in English region a great step in the continuation of the work of spreading Divine love to the world.
Holy mass was celebrated at St Mary’s catholic church Croydon London with many of our sisters’ present. At the mass after communion the Governing and Advisory board members took an oath to help the Philanthropic Development office.
The blessing of the office took place immediately after mass since the office is right opposite the church. Dr Glenda Antonio Spring Rain Global CEO who travelled all the way from Philippines for the launching and blessing of the office did the cutting of the tape to declare the office open after prayers were said by Fr Ignatius Edet the PDO spiritual director and Fr Patrick Feyisetan Parish Priest of St Mary’s Croydon.
In the hall Sr Emily, the Regional superior welcomed everyone and in a special way Dr Glenda Antonio for her services to mankind and vision and for bringing us to this stage. Audio Visual presentation of our 6 advocacies were presented:
- Health care Services
- Care for the Vulnerable
- Care for Children
- Physical Structure/Equipment
- Community Development
- Formation/Scholarship
There was also visual presentation on life experiences of our beneficiaries
Dr Glenda Antonio gave presentation on Philanthropic Development system and the great impact Spring Rain Global is making in different parts of the world with their philanthropic consultancy work. Sr Sebastian talked on her experience of Philanthropy.
In appreciation Sr Ann Ugoh, the PDO director with her sisters crowned Dr Glenda as African Queen of the year and there were photo opportunities with nice background music. Souvenirs were giving out and light refreshment was served.
It was indeed a happy day. To God be the glory.
